  John Kelso, a frequent writer for the Austin American Statesman, makes a very funny but true statement about political mailers that we receive. He uses candidate Holly Turner as an example of sending out goofy mailers.Turner's political mailer is a warm fuzzy photo. She is showcasing her perfect pearly whites while she's holding a little girl who is wearing a puffy winter coat and a big smile. What's so hilarious about it is that in reality the little girl is not even her daughter, nor is she related to her. In fact, Turner only has a eight year old son. So why not take a picture with your own son and and husband for that matter, and present your real life to the people you want to vote for you. These politcial mailers are sent out to residents in hopes of you reading them, but often you end up being caught up by the comical pictures. As if the pictures don't entertain you, the big bold letters of bulls**t that these candidates write will make you wonder if they should even be running for any office at all. If you seen Paul Workman is a Local Board Member of Citizens for Lawsuit Abuse.You would think he was about to sue you for something."Yeah, uh unfortunately -- he's a local board member of Citizens Against Lawsuit Abuse," said Eric Bearse , Workman's spokesman. "It is a typo." Wow!!! That goes to show people always make mistakes. You wonder at what cost though.I bet he lost some votes just because of an avoidable error.I applaud John Kelso for writing this article maybe it might bring light the ridiculous things candidates do to get our votes and it could help canidates not make the same bonehead errors as other politicians have.
